KAMEYAMA Mitsuhiro

亀山光明

KAMEYAMA Mitsuhiro is a PhD candidate in the Department of Global Japanese Studies at Tohoku University. His research investigates discourses on Buddhist precepts within the framework of modern Japanese Buddhism, especially in connection to the formation of the concept of religion/shūkyō. His MA thesis from Tohoku University received, in 2019, the fifth annual Nakamura Hajime Award in Eastern Thought and Culture, and will be published in 2022 as Shaku Unshō to kairitsu no kindai 釈雲照と戒律の近代 [Shaku Unshō and the Modernity of Precepts], by Hōzōkan, Kyoto.
