Jesse LeFebvre

Jesse LeFebvre is a doctoral candidate in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University. He is a specialist in both the premodern and modern religious traditions and cultures of Japan. His publications have appeared in the Japanese Journal of Religious Studies and Journal of Religion in Japan. His main research interests include the relationship between disaster and the formation of religious cultures in medieval Japan and cultures of nonreligiousness in modern Japan.
