Yamamoto Kayoko is an Assistant Professor at Tenri Health Care University. Her current research deals with life and death studies, especially spiritual care, grief care, and bioethics. She is the co-author (with Takaki Yoshiko) of Hitan no naka ni taru hito ni kokoro o yosete: Hito wa kanashimi to do mukai satte iku no ka  悲嘆の中にある人に心を寄せて—人は悲しみとどう向かい合っていくのか [People in Grief: How People Manage their Sorrows] (Sophia University Press, 2014), and the translator of Ai suru mono no shi to do mukiauka: Hitan no iyashi 愛する者の死とどう向き合うか—悲嘆の癒し (authored by Carl Becker; Koyo Shobo, 2009).
